Get to know HeartFelt Co.

Hi everyone! 

My name is Erika and I am the founder and owner of HeartFelt Co. I am a wife to my best friend, Alec and a teacher who loves to craft and be creative. 

Most importantly, I am the mom to two amazing boys, Davis and Austin.

My oldest son, Davis, was my inspiration for HeartFelt. He loves a routine and doing things a million times once he learns them. We got into a rut of reading the same construction vehicles book every day, multiple times  a day. I wanted to add some creativity, learning, and ownership into his love and learning of construction vehicles. So, I created a felt board for him with everything you'd find on a construction site! 

The first day I introduced it, he didn't really know what to do with it. But after a few times, he was pretending to move the trucks around, the construction workers were having conversations, and he was using a lot of meaningful vocabulary.

The biggest change in our routine of the construction vehicles book I saw, was I went from being the leader of the activity to a passive participant. He was guiding me and choosing when to engage me rather than the other way around. 

What may have started as a way for my kiddo to learn and grow, is turning into a business I hope to grow and nourish to become a way for lots of kiddos to learn and grow. Whether your child loves mermaids, shapes, the ocean, dinosaurs, etc. I have a kit for you!
